CANINE NOSEWORK TRAINING & COMPETITION

Sara Tagget, CNWI
Desilu Dogs is a small business providing K9 Nose Work Training. Sara believes dog training should be fun and positive. Sara has been training her dogs since 2012. Sara has been teaching nose work classes in Maryland since 2021. Sara is a Certified Nose Work Instructor (CNWI™). She is a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) and the National Association of Canine Scent Work® (NACSW).
Sara is a retired math teacher and IT professional. Sara believes learning is continuous throughout one’s life and regularly attends classes taught by leaders in the field of dog training. Sara is currently working on her Parkour Instructor certification.
Sara shares her life with her husband David and their three female American Hairless Terriers (AHT): Lucy, Desi, and Vivian. Sara trains and competes with her dogs in
K9 Nose Work® as well as Agility, Rally, Obedience, Tricks, Freestyle, Parkour, Fastcat, coursing ability test (CAT), Flyball and AKC Fitdog. Besides teaching classes and training with her own dogs, Sara is an advocate for suicide prevention and mental health education. Sara’s daughter Katrina died by suicide and in her memory, Sara and her family founded the Katrina Tagget Memorial Foundation. Sara wishes everyone understood, “Your Life Matters”. DESI
AMERICAN HAIRLESS TERRIER
Desi is a fun, loving, and confident terrier. Desi is the first AHT to earn Elite titles with NACSW including Elite Champion, the first AHT to earn any and all of her AKC Scent Work titles, and is the most titled AHT. Desi has earned over 112 titles in Scent Work, Agility, Parkour, Obedience, Tricks, Freestyle, Fastcat, and CAT. Desi is also training in Rally.
LUCY
AMERICAN HAIRLESS TERRIER
Lucy is Sara’s first AHT. Lucy advanced from the couch to training when COVID came. Lucy holds titles in Scent Work, Fastcat, CAT, and Fitdog. Lucy is currently trialing at NW2 level and working on her AKC Novice Elite titles.
VIVIAN
AMERICAN HAIRLESS TERRIER
Vivian is the youngest of the bunch and has already earned titles in tricks, Fastcat, and Fitdog.
Vivian has also earned points towards titling in confirmation. Vivian’s sire is GR CH Rip It Up Kashin It In
(Benjamin), #1 AHT 2021. Like her sisters, Vivian is training in scent work, tricks, obedience, agility, and fit dog.
Vivian’s nose work journey is just beginning.
